      Maruti sets-up new Road Safety Knowledge Center with Gurgaon Police

      The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), which has is giant production facilities in Gurgaon and Manesar, has come together with Gurgaon police to ensure safer driving on the roads of Gurgaon with beefed-up vigilance. Commissioner S. S. Deswal inaugurated a special Road Safety Knowledge Center at the office of DCP (Traffic), which is a one room set-up. Commenting on the unique initiative taken by the firm with Gurgaon Police, Maruti Suzuki’s senior executive Mr. Mayank Pareek said, "The road safety knowledge centre is the first of its kind. With this, the MSIL plans to improve traffic in Gurgaon."

      The traffic police will now ask the offenders to take training on rules and regulations at this Road Safety Knowledge Center at the DGP office. At the center, the offenders will be instructed with the help of simulators and multimedia. The safety education that will be given on these roads will be aimed at improving the driving behavior of the traffic offenders on public roads of Gurgaon.

      On Tuesday, the first training batch of 35 auto rickshaw drivers was given training at this center. The offenders will be brought to the training room when they will come to the DCP (Traffic) office for paying challans. A fee of Rs 50 will be charged to offenders for this training.
