      Maruti management to again sit on negotiation table with striking workers on Monday

      Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the largest car maker in the country that has been struggling with halted production at its Manesar and Gurgaon plant due to the worker’s strike, will again sit on the negotiation table with union leaders from Monday. It has been over nine days since the workers are on third consecutive strike at the firm’s Manesar plant.

      The Manesar plant worker’s of Maruti Suzuki along with workers of Suzuki Powertrain Indian Limited (SPIL) will sit outside the Manesar plant until a breakthrough is achieved. The worker’s vacated the Manesar plant after a directive of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday. "We will sit only 100 meters away from the plant as per the high court's directive and wait for justice," said the union leader of the agitating workers, Sonu Gujjar.

      In a statement given to IANS, Sonu Gujjar said, "Negotiations will start on Monday, as promised by the administration and management." He added that "More than 3,000 workers of MSIL and SPIL are here and we will sit here until a breakthrough is achieved and our legitimate demands are met."

      Following a settlement on October 1st in the presence of Haryana government, the worker’s again went on strike on October 7th, demanding reinstatement of 44 suspended workers, whom the management is not ready to take back.
