Maruti Suzuki has launched the Vitara Brezza for Rs.6.99 lacs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the new compact SUV from Maruti Suzuki that competes with the likes of Ford Ecosport and the Mahindra TUV300. This compact SUV is a five-seater and it will be sold through Maruti Suzuki dealerships and not through Nexa Experience.

The Vitara Brezza comes with a 1.3-litre diesel engine that churns 90bhp of power and 210Nm of maximum torque. This is the same engine that also powers the Ciaz and the Ertiga. Maruti will be initially offering it with a five-speed manual transmission and it will be later on that an AMT could also be offered. The Maruti Vitara Brezza will not be sold initially with a diesel engine. It will be offered in nine colour options and it shall have a fuel efficiency of 24.3km/l as per the ARAI fuel efficiency cycle.

The Vitara Brezza will be offered with features like keyless entry, push start and stop, touchscreen system, reverse parking camera and even satellite navigation. The boot size of this compact SUV stands at 328 litres. The ground clearance is 200mm and it has a tyre size of 215/60R16.

The Vitara Brezza is Maruti Suzuki’s first compact SUV and the company has introduced an SUV after many years. The only other SUV that Maruti has sold is the Grand Vitara, which hasn’t done that well. The Grand Vitara was up against the Honda CR-V.
