Maruti eager to woo the Auto market

Of late, Maruti Suzuki walked one more step ahead, by introducing the Swift Hatchback with a major transformation of providing a facelift to it. It seems that the carmaker has planned to cash in on facelifts to ensure consistent success and positivity in the auto market. Maruti’s another gem that is performing stupendously well in the Indian Auto market is Maruti Ritz. Ritz has been accepted with the same trust and confidence by its buyers and thus falls in the category akin to that of Swift.  Maruti Ritz has always been expected to fulfil the needs and requirements that keep on lingering the minds of the Indians.

At present, Maruti mulls to offer a new look to the Ritz, aiming at its up gradation, as soon as the car celebrates its third birthday this year. The modifications and refinements are here, as a trend, as most Maruti models are going under the knife.

Therefore, Ritz is all set to get refreshment after almost 3 years of running on the Indian roads. However, all this cannot be considered as a big move compared to the hottest buzz in the auto industry which is still to come. Maruti recently tipped-off that it would engage in, what can be termed as a drive of refinement and introductions at the largest scale ever in the history of the company. A jaw-dropping drive to bring in 20 new models to be launched within the next four to five years is something astounding. It is believed that the modifications in Ritz will take place only with the style and the interiors with no desire to transform the genre itself in any way. The reason being, that 3 years time cannot be considered enough to carve a place in the market and make a distinct identity.

Taking in consideration, the A-Star Hatchback, the fact is that it has not come out with flying colours in its journey. It is the black sheep of the Maruti family. What really is a matter of great concern for the Maruti camp is that, A-Star simply dissatisfies its users as it offers quite an enclosed space at the back and proves to be a discomfort for its rear seat occupants. A-Star is basically an occupant of the place that was left vacant by Maruti Alto.

However, A-star is not that black as it has been painted. It has been rated decently for its control and handling being amazing, three cylinder K-Series engine with a 1 litre capacity having fuel efficiency. But all the plus points, though limited, have failed to convince the minds of car buyers to reach out to the dealers. What has come as a surprise is that, even the simple and average looking Zen Estilo overtakes the performance of A-Star every month in terms of sales.

Maruti Suzuki must pull up its socks to compete with the new Hyundai i10 diesel. The not- so-popular A-Star can improve its image in the market by following the lines of Hyundai i10 and affix a diesel engine to it, though the change cannot be expected this year.  So, 2012 vows to be quite a watchful period for Maruti Suzuki as the brand would have a great penchant for a lot of revisions and refinements with competition entering another phase that would definitely be more furious.
