Mahindra, the automobile giant in India came up with its Mahindra Xylo in January 2009 and now this year it is going to launch the smaller version of Xylo, the Mahindra Xylo Mini. Mahindra came up with its Xylo to compete with the Toyota Innova, which was launched at that the same time only. The coming up of this smaller version of Xylo by the end of August 2011 will be on the list of this year's upcoming models. This car is being termed as an MUV and it will come with a 1498cc 3 cylinder engine. Suspension with independent coil spring and multi coil spring are the underlined features of this car.

Being designed as a 5-seater, the Xylo mini makes a perfect car for Indian families. The interiors of this car have been kept the same as of the previous Mahindra Xylo. Talking in terms of mileage, the Mahindra Xylo Mini is expected to be the best in this segment. Mahindra has made this car available in a petrol variant. The 1.5L CRDi engine gives a powerful boost to its performance and is expected to be crafted with same aggressive looks that is the brand image of Mahindra.

Talking about the specifications of the new Mahindra Xylo Mini, it consists of tachometer, tripmeter and front axles with anti roll bars on the suspension. Central locking, remote fuel filler, sporty cockpit, engine immobilizer and body colour bumpers are some of the added features of this car. Mahindra has also taken care about the safety measures as the new Xylo Mini comes well-equipped with the Anti-lock Braking System and powerful fog lamps. From the front, the Mahindra Xylo Mini looks very sporty as it is similar to the parent Mahindra Xylo. If we talk about the dashboard, it is pretty decent and is made similar to that of the previous Xylo.

This car seems to give a tough competition to TATA Aria, which is launched recently. Both these cars share similar sporty looks, but Mahindra excels in the engine performance. The TATA Aria is designed to poise a sedan look as well as an SUV one. But with Mahindra's unmatched engine performance, Aria seems little low in front of it. Talking about the interiors of Aria, the new TATA Aria is packed with several features that can overlap the Mahindra's. It comes with 3D surround sound features and has GPS as well.

Apart from this, this car has dual air conditioning, automatic climate control and cruise control. This vehicle meets European safety standards as it is having 6 airbags, ABS and ESP.  To ensure that this model possess the finest sedan look, TATA Motors shipped one of its units to its UK subsidiary- the Jaguar Land Rover to enhance Aria's fittings and finish. As the Mahindra Xylo Mini is available in the petrol variant, it may not be able to attract much of the Indian customers. On the other hand, the TATA Aria comes in both petrol and diesel variants, which can act as an advantage for TATA Motors.
