Reportedly, the new models planned for two years will span across the motorcycle and scooter category. On this, he said, “We are working on both the categories at the same degree of emphasis- as the market demands.” When asked about the sales for new models, Mathur said, "Our sales propensity today is much higher than we can meet, what we are doing therefore is we are ramping up our capacity;...we are investing in enhancing the capacity further- so as to raise the bar further depending- because of the fact that there is unfulfilled demand for our products.”

He said that the auto maker will be producing more than 1,000 bikes each day, equating around 25,000 to 30,000 units per month. “In this industry, increase in capacity happens in step function and our first milestone is going to a 50 per cent higher than this- by the end of November,” he added later. It must be noted that Mahindra & Mahindra has a plant at Pithampura near Indore. On its association with overseas brands, Mathur was quoted as saying, “We are always open to any strategic partnership with anybody who in working with us can enhance the value of the business or for the customer or for the share holder. Speaking on the export plans of the company, he said that the Mahindra Two Wheelers seems quite aggressive in the upcoming future, owing to its strong potential. The company want to soon grab an export share of 20 per cent as Mathur said, “..our immediate plan is to first go 10 per cent and very soon go to 20 per cent- it could happen in couple of years.” Speaking on the similar lines, the Vice President (Sales & Customer Care) for Mahindra Two Wheelers, Dharmendra Mishra said that the auto maker is planning to take the total count of its dealerships to 1,400 by the end of ongoing fiscal and 2000 by fiscal 2015.
