Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, the country’s largest utility vehicle manufacturer, is set to unveil its new Bolero Maxi Truck Plus on May 6, 2013. The pick-up truck would be given a media launch in Mumbai where its technical specifications and details would be made public. Apart from the passenger vehicle sector, Mahindra & Mahindra is also among the largest commercial vehicle manufacturers in the Indian auto market. The soon-to-be launched Bolero Maxi Truck Plus is a small commercial vehicle and would bolster the company’s portfolio in the entry level pick-up truck segment.
The Mahindra Bolero Maxi pick-up trucks are one of the company’s top selling models in the small commercial vehicle segment of the Indian auto market. The range was introduced in July last year and since then Mahindra & Mahindra has been recording decent sales figures of same. The upcoming Bolero Maxi Truck Plus is expected to come fitted with additional features that would set new benchmarks in the entry level pick-up segment. Experts believe that the company is looking at increasing its share in the small commercial vehicle space with the new Bolero Maxi Truck.
Mahindra & Mahindra is looking to bolster its commercial vehicle fleet, in order to compete better against its rivals like Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland in the country. The company had introduced its Maxximo Plus mini-truck in the market earlier this year. The Mahindra Maxximo Plus pick-up truck carried a base price of Rs. 3.46 lakh (BS III model), and is powered by 26 bhp engine and has a payload strength of 0.85 tonne.
