After its launch in Mumbai, it would soon be rolled out in New Delhi and Bangalore and then phase wise roll out in other markets. The third generation SUV is laden with a number of features and boasts of luxurious interiors, sophisticated styling, elegant looks and superior performance both on and off-roads.

The all new Rexton is powered by a turbocharged DOHC in-line 5 diesel engine which can deliver a maximum power of 162.2 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 340 Nm of torque at 1800 rpm. The car offers a decent mileage and will be available at a very competitive price.

Rexton is a body-on-frame SUV, which is based on the first-generation Mercedes M-Class (W163). The sports utility vehicle will compete against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

Talking about the upcoming launch, Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive and Farm Equipment sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. & Chairman, SsangYong Motor said, “The launch of the much acclaimed XUV500 last year helped Mahindra stamp its presence on the segment of premium SUVs. The Rexton will be the first SUV from the SsangYong portfolio brought to the Indian market by Mahindra."
