Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) Limited, one of the leading tractor manufacturers in the country, maintained its market dominance in the farm equipment segment on domestic turf. M&M's Farm Equipment Sector (FES), a part of the $ 15.9 billion Mahindra Group, has declared its monthly sales figures for January 2013. The January sales figures were announced by the company through a press release on February 1, 2013 in Mumbai.
As per reports, M&M's FES stayed the market leader in the tractor industry with domestic sales of 16,402 units registered during last month, as compared to 17,950 units sold in the same period last year. The company's combined sales, including domestic and exports stood at 17,473 units during January 2013, as against 19,362 units sold in the same month last year. Further, number of tractors exported by M&M's FES stood at 1,071 units in January 2013.
At present, M&M's FES division has presence in major international markets, including United States, China, Australia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East and Eastern Europe. Further, the company also exports its products to countries in the Indian subcontinent like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Last year, Mahindra was listed on the Forbes Global 2000 list as one of the most powerful companies across the globe.
