Mahindra, a market leader in the utility vehicle segment had recently introduced the Intelli-hybrid technology in the 2.2-litre Scorpio sold across the country except for Delhi and NCR region. This time around the automaker has introduced the Intelli-Hybrid Technology on the Scorpio with a 1.99-litre mHAWK engine for Delhi and NCR. The mild hybrid technology version is available at a starting price tag of Rs 9.35 lakh.
Owing to mild hybrid technology, the vehicle has attracted a concessional Value Added Tax (VAT) of 5 per cent in Delhi which translates to a benefit of about Rs 60,000 to Rs 90,000 for the customer, as per the variant purchased. The Scorpio in Delhi and NCR region is powered by a downsized 1.99-litre mHAWK engine that generates about 120bhp of power. The new technology claims to reduce fuel consumption by up to 7 per cent.
Mahindra has offered the Scorpio Intelli-Hybrid on following variants - S4, S4+, S4+ 4wd, S6+, S8, S10-2WD (manual transmission) and S10- 4WD (manual transmission). The SUV does not get any design or feature upgrades and it continues to be offered with six-inch touch screen infotainment system with GPS navigation, fully automatic temperature control, luxurious Blue-Grey interiors, 17-inch alloy wheels and static bending projector headlamps with eyebrow-styled LED parking lights.
