The yet to launch Micro-SUV codenamed S101 test mule has been spotted on numerous occasions. Earlier it was believed that the company may launch the new trim in the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo event in Delhi. Now it is believed that the company may launch the new model ahead of the upcoming event. Mahindra has not yet revealed the official name for the vehicle, however it could likely be called as XUV100, YUV100 or KUV100.
The Micro-SUV is expected to be powered by 1.2-litre diesel engine. It is also believed that Mahindra may also introduce a 1.2-litre petrol engine. S101 could get an optional five-speed AMT apart from the five-speed manual transmission. The engines could be developed by Mahindra and Ssangyong jointly and could be manufactured at the Chakan facility. The vehicle come be offered with interesting set of features like in-dash music system with bluetooth, Aux and USB, Dual airbags, steering mounted audio controls.
