Mahindra Renault is offering an attractive discount of upto Rs. 60,000 on its car, Logan. The current discount comes from mix of direct cash discount as well as the excise duty benefit from the government.

The offer remains valid till 27th December 2008 and will be valid on all nine variants of mid-sized sedan from the company. Nalin Mehta, chief executive officer, Mahindra Renault, said, "We are offering a uniform discount of Rs 60,000 on the car from tomorrow, which is a mix of direct cash discount from us and the benefit arising out of the Cenvat rate cut." The government last week announced a 4-per cent cut in the central value-added tax (Cenvat).

The base variant 1.4 GL petrol is now available at Rs. 4.12 lakh. Similarly, 1.5DLE variants will be available at Rs. 5.15 lakh against its original price of Rs. 5.75 lakh. The customers can also avail a benefit of additional Rs. 10,000 under the exchange offer which will be in addition to the Rs. 60,000 cash discount.

The company sold only 300 units of the model last month against the 1561 units sold in the same month last year.
