In an exclusive interview to ET, Pawan Goenka, president, auto & farm equipments, Mahindra & Mahindra revealed that the company is planning to introduce several new products and new variants of existing models in the Indian market.
One of the most prominent variants coming to the Indian market is of Mahindra Xylo which will be addressing the needs of sub-segment. Mahindra and Mahindra is already a leader in SUV, MPV, UV segment and it intends to break the overall segment in various sub-segments and place different products and their variants in each sub-segment. This will also prevent cannibalisation of its own products in the same segment. M&M has carefully planned increase in their volume sales owing this new strategy of introducing new sub-segments.
Goenka also stated that the company is in talks with its component suppliers so that it does not feel any dearth of auto components while going ahead with its expansion plans. It also entering the US market soon with its SUV model Mahindra Scorpio.
