      Mahindra NuvoSport debuts in India at a lucrative starting price tag of Rs 7.35 lakh. The new compact SUV is offered in six variants – N4, N4+, N6, N6 AMT, N8 and N8 AMT. The Mahindra NuvoSport competes against the likes of the Ford EcoSport and the recently launched Maruti Vitarra Brezza.

      Under the hood, the Mahindra NuvoSport is powered by mHawk80 1.5-litre diesel engine that generates 99bhp of power and 240Nm of torque. In the eco-mode however, the power output figures drops to 71bhp and 180Nm of torque. All the variants come with rear-wheel drive set up, four of them have the five-speed manual gearbox, while the other two use the AMT interface. For safety, all but the base variant get the dual front airbags and ABS with EBD.

      The Mahindra NuvoSport N4 priced at Rs 7.35 lakh comes with features like air-conditioning, power steering, reclining second row, eco and power modes, follow-me home headlamps, 12V front power outlet and engine immobilizer. This is the most basic version and even misses out on things like the body coloured bumpers. However there is N+ variant priced at 7.65 lakh for additionally safety. It essentially has the same features as the base trim, but offers ABS with EBD, dual airbags, seatbelt reminder and height-adjustable front seatbelts.

      The NuvoSport N6 variant priced at Rs 8.36 lakh gets all the features from the N4+ while additionally offering the audio system with USB and aux connectivity, side and rear footstep, rear wash-wiper, rear 12V power outlet, body colored bumpers and door handles, electric adjust wing mirrors, remote locking, power windows and Micro Hybrid technology. Moving a step ahead, the N6 AMT priced at Rs 9.0 Lakh gets all the features from the N6 except the Micro Hybrid technology while additionally offering the convenience of AMT technology.

      Moving higher, the NuvoSport N8 variant priced at Rs 9.12 lakh gets all the features from the N6+ and additionally offering the 16-inch alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment system with USB, aux and Bluetooth connectivity, fog lamps, front-and-rear centre armrest, puddle lamps, multi-function steering, driver seat height adjust, rear parking sensors, leather upholstery and the LED daytime running lamps. The top-end spec NuvoSport N8 AMT priced at 9.76 lakh is the same car with the more useable transmission.

      Customers keen on compact SUV featuring automatic option in diesel can indeed opt for the NuvoSport as it is the only oil burner with that option. We believe that the N6 AMT is a good option to go for as it offers all the necessary features at a lucrative price point.
