The Mahindra’s sub four metre compact SUV NuvoSport is confirmed for launch in India on 4th April, 2016. The vehicle is indeed a facelifted version of the Quanto and is being pegged as a replacement for the same.

Mahindra has not revealed technical details of the vehicle yet. However, we anticipate that Mahindra NuvoSport might be powered by a 1.5-litre engine that might generate power output of about 90bhp. Apart from the manual option, the company might offer the new compact SUV in optional AMT. The Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai has carried out the research and development for the NuvoSport, while the design element is worked upon by Mahindra’s in-house design team. The vehicle is essentially a TUV300 with better design that will appeal to the urban masses.

On the design aspect, the vehicle shares some resemblance to the Mahindra’s Scorpio. As seen in images, the vehicle gets LED DRLs, faux hood scoop, rugged black bumper and a faux skid plate. As for the rear, it comes with vertically stacked tail lamps and a tailgate mounted spare wheel. The new five- spoke alloy wheel design also adds up to its overall appeal. The compact SUV is expected to offer dual airbags as standard right from the base model itself.

The recently launched Mahindra TUV300 has been offered for Rs 6.90 lakh, owing to its basic styling, it is expected to find more takers from the rural market. The NuvoSport with modern styling cues, will attract more customers from the urban market. The NuvoSport is anticipated to be priced between Rs 7.0 lakh – Rs 7.5 Lakh.
