Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), a part of the US $12.5 billion Mahindra Group, is geared up for the launch of its eagerly awaited global SUV, the XUV 500, on 28th September 2011 at Pune. The masterpiece has been designed and produced completely in-house by Mahindra, with utmost precision and skills. With XUV 500, the leading car maker for the first time is entering the global market with a premium SUV platform. It is important to note that the company has taken into consideration, the likes and preferences of customers across the globe, while developing the design and affixing of features to the SUV.

The launch of XUV 500 will be closely followed by another pertinent event, where in there will be announcement regarding the price, strategy and technology that the vehicle carries. It is expected to take place on September 29th 2011. Further plans suggest that there will be a visit to Mahindra’s manufacturing facility at Chakan and test drives would be conducted. XUV 500 has undergone a vigorous process of global testing and validation for almost four years, before it could be finally produced. The latest SUV is believed to imbibe Mahindra group’s automotive vision, under which buyers would be getting nothing less than the best and the consummate new product speaks testimony for the same.

Mahindra Group which has produced the XUV 500 has always been a dedicated car maker. Mahindra functions in key industries that effect the economic growth of the country. It is one of the leading companies in terms of tractors, utility vehicles, information technology, vacation ownership, rural and semi-urban financial services, etc.

It was because of the overwhelming response from the customers in India, even before the launch of XUV 500 that led to the release its teasers. Anand Mahindra, Vice Chairman & MD - M&M Ltd. made  efforts to keep the excitement intact, by running a contest on his personal Twitter page called “Guess the date” of the global SUV launch.

The XUV 500 has been worked upon entirely in-house at Mahindra & Mahindra’s world class research and development facility i.e. the Mahindra Research Valley at Chennai. The fact that makes the Mahindra camp so confident is that the vehicle will be the country’s first ever indigenously developed monocoque SUV, affixed with the first transverse engine offered by Mahindra.

XUV 500 would surely earn laurels owing to its purely unique design and global level technologies. Moreover, right from the initial stages, each and every research & development activity that was related to this global SUV was co-ordinated with global standards of quality, technology, testing norms, regulations & emissions. Thus XUV 500 can be considered as a product that has been built on the lines of Mahindra “Rise” philosophy. During the making of this vehicle, advance thinking and world-class engineering techniques were applied, and the use of innovative resources was involved. It is undoubtedly a strong contender of the SUV segment, and sophisticated technologies would support the SUV to carve a niche for itself in the coming time.
