      Mahindra & Mahindra sales jump 25 percent in March 2012

      Mahindra & Mahindra, the largest utility vehicle maker in the Indian market, has witnessed a surge of 25 percent during the month of March 2012. The company sold a total of 47,001 unitsof its vehicles in the Indian market during this month as compared to 37,522 units sold in the same month preceding year.

      In the Indian market, the company sold a total of 44,342 units as compared to 35,488 units sold in the same month, registering a sales surge of 25 percent. The passenger vehicle sales of the company saw a considerable rise of 33 percent during this month to 23,020 units as compared to 17,320 units same month last year.

      In the Financial year 2011-12, the company sold a total of 483,246 units as compared to 377,063 units, registering a sales surge of 28 percent over the previous financial year.

      Speaking on the company’s performance during this year, Pravin Shah, M&M Chief Executive (Automotive Division), "We are happy to have achieved a growth of 28 per cent in 2011-12 given the pressures the auto industry is facing. All our brands have done well this year and we hope to create excitement in the market during FY 2013 with the addition of new products in our portfolio."
