The Mahindra e2o ElectriCity car has been launched in the UK market. The e2o City variant costs £12,995 (Rs 12.26 lakh) and the e2o TechX is priced at £15,995 (Rs 15.09 lakh).
The launch of this electric vehicle also marks Mahindra and Mahindra's re-entry in the UK market. The Revai, dubbed as the G-Wiz, was sold in the country earlier. Now, the e2o will take this responsibility as it caters to the sub-£16,000 segment of the electric vehicle market. It can be booked through Mahindra's UK site and test drives will soon start in London, Birmingham, Bristol and Milton Keynes.
The TechX model of the e2o gets some additional features over the standard e2o City variant. This includes a Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment system with reversing camera, telematics, Revive remote emergency recharging, leather seats, alloy wheels and a rapid charging port. In addition, the touchscreen infotainment centre comes with satellite navigation with ‘range remaining’ and maps featuring charge point locations. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspot connection, USB, SD card and DAB radio is also in-built in this system.
The Mahindra e2o ElectriCity is similar to the one sold in the Indian market. However, this two-door, four-seater compact hatchback will be exported from India with some UK market-specific changes.
