      Mahindra KUV100 sells over 50,000 units in 15 months

      Mahindra, a popular name in the utility vehicle segment has added a new feather to its cap with the KUV100 selling over 50,000 units in the country. In terms of numbers, the Indian automaker has sold 50,288 units of the KUV100 in the 15 months since its launch. Tagged as a young SUV by Mahindra, the vehicle is available in flexi six-seat and five-seat options in the country.   

      Speaking about the sales milestone, Rajan Wadhera, President, Automotive Sector, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. said, “We would like to thank our customers for their support in achieving this milestone for the KUV100. The KUV100 has created an all-new SUV segment in the price range of Rs. 4.5 to 7 lakhs. It combines the appeal of an SUV and the practicality of a compact car, making it a compelling value proposition for buyers. The recent introduction of the new look dual tone KUV100 has also resonated well with our customers and going forward, I am sure that the KUV100 will continue to scale new heights.”

      In order to make things more interesting to customers, Mahindra is also offering personalisation options to customers with four accessory kits with sporty and premium themes. The vehicle is available in petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered by 1.2-litre 3-cylinder mFalcon G80 engine that puts out 82bhp of power and 114Nm of torque. While, the diesel trim gets a 1.2-turbocharged 3-cylinder mFalcon D75 engine that puts out 77bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

      In January this year, Mahindra introduced the anniversary edition KUV100 in India. This special edition model is available in the top-end K8 six-seater variant at an additional price of Rs 13,000. The trim was offered in two dual tone exterior colour options – flamboyant red or a dazzling silver body topped with metallic black roof and pillars along with bigger 15-inch wheels. The interior was offered with a sporty black and premium theme with a new upholstery design to attract more young buyers.
