      Mahindra Gusto launched in India priced at Rs 43,000

      Mahindra Two Wheelers has launched its new scooter, Gusto in India today priced at Rs 43,000 for the DX variant while the top end VX trim is labelled at Rs 47,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). With Gusto Mahindra Two Wheelers has ventured into the 110cc scooter segment. The new scooter from Gusto is available in for sale only in the Northern and Western parts of the country, the scooter will be inducted in other parts of the country too by the end of this year. Gusto is a global product and has also been launched in Nepal today along with the domestic market.

      Other than Nepal the all new scooter will also be sold in other overseas markets including South Asia, Central America and Africa in upcoming months. Under the hood is a new all aluminium 109.6 cc, single cylinder, M-TEC engine. The new M-TEC engine churns out maximum power output of 8.2 PS along with top torque of 8.5 Nm. A CVT is matched to the 109.6 cc engine that channelizes power to rear wheels. Gusto is claimed to deliver an excellent ARAI certified fuel economy of 63.5 kmpl.

      Gusto offers a wheelbase of 1275 mm and 165 mm of ground clearance. On the outside are relatively larger 12 inch alloy wheels that enhance the overall look of the scooter and head lamps get LED pilot lamps. The scooter weights around 120 kgs. Suspension set up of new Gusto comprises of a front telescopic fork and a rear single coil spring. M&M claims that the scooter is equipped with a sturdy crankshaft and bearings. Besides these Gusto is vouched to deliver high inertia magneto, higher energy HT coils and a series regulator.

      Developed at the Mahindra’s R&D unit located in Pune, Gusto is a completely new product. It took Mahindra & Mahindra almost two years to develop Gusto. In its segment, the scooter will gun straight against the likes of Honda Avtive, TVS Jupiter, Hero Maestro, Yamaha Alpha and Suzuki Let’s in domestic market.
