In an attempt to hold a stronger position in the Indian scooter segment, Mahindra has been working on a powerful Gusto variant for a while now. As per fresh update, the Gusto 125 from Mahindra shall be launched sometime early next month. The pricing aspect is not known for now, it is but obvious that it could command a slightly premium price over its current 110cc sibling.
The Gusto 125 would be powered by 124.6cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled M-Tec petrol engine that would generate about 8.5bhp of power at 7,000 rpm and 10Nm of torque at about 5,500rpm. For control, the front as well as the rear brake comes with drum brakes. As the Gusto 125 is built on the Gusto 110 platform, the new scooter would only feature cosmetic upgrades in form badges, colour and decals.
As for features, the Gusto 125 shall continue to be offered with LED pilot lamps, height adjustable seat, tubeless tyres, guide-me lamps, find-me lamps, remote flip key and tubeless tyres. To ensure a comfortable ride, the scooter comes with coil-type hydraulic suspension at the rear, while the front gets telescopic fork suspension. The scooter gets 12-inch alloy wheels.
