      Mahindra e2o likely to be offered in 4-door option

      The e2o from Mahindra has been the only successfully selling electric car model in India. In an attempt to further expand its market, the company has reportedly been working on a four-door model to mark its presence in the international markets as well. As revealed to sources by Pawan Goenka, Executive Director of Mahindra & Mahindra, the company has been planning on developing as four door variant of the vehicle to cater to the European markets.

      As per sources, Mahindra may set-up a distribution centre in United Kingdom and may introduce the new model sometime by mid 2016. The company intends on offering all the more practicality to customers by ofering a four-door option that allows convenient ingress/egress. However, being a compact vehicle, the space would be indeed be limited in the export version as well. The company not revealed if the four door option may be offered for the Indian market, but based on anticipation, it may be offered in the domestic market as well.

      Mahindra has reportdly witnessed a double increase in sale of its e2o model post the announcement of government's FAME initiative. Subsidy on the e2o is available across 8 cities namely – Jaipur, Delhi, Kolkatta, Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The company has also been trying to procure agreements with car rental firms in Pune and Delhi in an attempt to further boost its sales.
