Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), the country's largest Utility Vehicle (UV) maker, is looking ahead to a massive investment of Rs. 3,000 crore in order to establish a manufacturing unit in Madhya Pradesh. The auto maker is considering setting up a plant on a land piece of 500 acres, which will be mainly dedicated to its Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs).

A land near Bagroda, around 20 km from Bhopal, was examined by the UV maker; however, none of the company officials made an announcement on the same. Reportedly, if M&M walks in Madhya Pradesh with whopping Rs. 3,000 crore, it will be considered as the biggest investment of such kind in the state.

Industry experts speculate that the move from auto maker expresses a strong belief of introducing Mahindra's Ssangyong brand in the Indian auto Industry as the launch of its flagship model Rexton SUV is on the cards. Looking for a SUV manufacturing facility clearly indicates that M&M has a big bet to play in the Indian auto industry, which will surely entice the country's auto aficionados. The new development will also help M&M to cement its position in the domestic market, besides underlining its dominance among its counterparts.
