Hyundai India is aiming to enter the new and growing segments of the country. The company will launch a crossover, compact SUV, MPV and a premium saloon in the Indian car market.
Here is a list of all the Hyundai cars that will be launched in India in the next 2 years
Hyundai i20 Active: The Elite i20 based crossover - the i20 Active - will be the launched in the third week of March, 2015. Based on the i20 hatch, the crossover adopts Hyundai's 2.0 Fluidic design language. It will rival against the likes of Toyota Etios Cross, Volkswagen Cross Polo and Fiat Avventura. Under the bonnet will be the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel engines that power its hatchback sibling.
Hyundai ix25 compact SUV: It is undoubtedly the most awaited car of the year. The ix25 compact SUV is not a sub-4 metre car and it will rival against the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Mahindra Scorpio. Expected to share components and mechanics with Verna sedan, the SUV might get 1.4-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel engines. The ix25 SUV is expected to be launched in the second half of 2015.
Hyundai MPV: If media reports are to be believed, the maker is working on a compact MPV for the Indian market. Few reports suggest that the car will be based on Grand i10 platform, but other reports say that the car will be based on an all-new platform. Whatever the platform it will be based on, the company is contemplating an MPV that might be launched by 2016.
Hyundai Elantra facelift: The South Korean automaker will also launch the Elantra facelift in the Indian car market by the second half of 2015. The updated model will get updated exteriors and interiors. Inside the cabin, the saloon is likely to get new infotainment system, new upholstery for seats and few other changes.
