      Launch of Honda Jazz set to spice up the Hatchback Segment in India

      The new showdown in the hatchback segment is definitely going to be from the esteemed Japanese car manufacturer Honda. The brand has unveiled the Jazz, which is soon to be launched at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Expected to bring the hatchback leadership back to Honda, this car has been designed keeping in mind the ultra-modern youth of today. With a contemporary and sleek design, Jazz is all ready to jazz up the market, especially the segment of premium hatchbacks. Incidentally, the Jazz will be manufactured on the global compact platform of Honda. This is the third generation of the Jazz and is expected to become the flagship model in this segment for Honda.

      The external dimensions of the all-new Jazz has been modified with the length being enhanced by 15 mm. The wheelbase of the model has been increased as well by 30 mm. Honda has done this to maximise the cabin space and the fuel tank will be placed at the centre. It is expected that these slight change in dimensions will contribute largely to increase the capaciousness of the car interiors. Interestingly, the number of people, which can be accommodated inside the car will remain the same, however, it is expected that the comfort level will be increased.

      Honda will install its trademark Magic Seats in the interiors of Jazz. The versatility of these seats makes them a popular aspect among its customers. The seats have been so designed so as to give passengers the maximum storage space. An upper and lower glove box has been separately provided. Apart from this, the car comes with a box under the rear seat and two strong hooks in the boot space. All of these additions have been made to make the new car more spacious. Honda has already claimed that the new Jazz will definitely offer a more comfortable and refined driving experience.

      The engine of the Jazz has also been ultra-modified to suit the current requirements of the new generation drivers. It has been provided with a brand new 1.3 litre i-VTEC petrol mill, which also has the Earth Dreams Technology, a signature presentation of Honda. This technology ensures a higher fuel economy and performance. Power is transmitted to the wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox, which can be also termed as the Continuously Various Transmission (CVT).

      With all these modifications under the belt of the Honda Jazz, it is expected that the variant will actually jazz up the brand’s name in the segment of hatchbacks. Apart from the modifications, the looks and appearance of the model have changed. All in all, customers should be ready for a power-packed entry of the third generation Jazz. Once it makes a debut at the Paris Motor Show, it will soon hit the streets. The Indian market is going through such a phase where the requirement of new car models, especially in the category of sedans and hatchbacks. The entry of the Jazz model is sure to be a path-breaking affair for Honda.
