Land Rover, the British subsidiary of the Indian auto giant Tata Motors, has revealed the details of their much anticipated next generation Range Rover. The new age SUV is build with 270 aluminum pressings, 14 castings, 9 extrusions, 10 steel pressings and magnesium castings. Moreover, the company engineers have used the high-strength AC300 T61 aluminum in the crash structure, which is also first of its kind in a luxury SUV.

With reduced weight, the new Range Rover 4 is now lighter as compared to its competitors like BMW 3 Series and Audi Q5. While it is 85 KG lighter than the Audi Q5, it carries 23 times less weight as compared to the BMW 3-series. Interestingly, the car is just 12 kg heavier as compared to BMW’s Mini Countryman.

      The SUV will be offered in three engine options including a V6 Diesel, 2993cc (twin-turbo, 24-valve 255bhp@4000rpm), a V8 Diesel (4367cc, twin-turbo, 24-valve 335bhp @3500rpm) and a V8 Supercharged Petrol (32-valve 504bhp@6000-6500rpm).
