Lamborghini celebrates its 50th anniversary in Japan with the Aventador S Roadster 50th Anniversary Japan Edition. The special edition model inspired by the five natural elements in Japanese culture - earth, wind, fire, water, and sky. The model is exclusive for the Japanese market and was showcased at the 'Lamborghini Day 2017' which was recently held in Tokyo.
Changes are limited to cosmetic detailing while mechanically it continues to be powered by the existing engine. The special edition model was developed by Lamborghini's Ad Personam Department in collaboration with Centro Stile, thereby resulting in creation of unique paint scheme for each model. The company claims that it took about ten specialists and 170 hours of labour to roll out the special version. The car gets a ’50 Japan’ badge close to the rear fender along with exposed carbon fibre windscreen frame and a hard top.
As seen in the water edition of the Aventador S Roadster 50th Anniversary Japan Edition, it gets Nero Ade leather and Nero Cosmus black Alcantra upholstery. The vehicle also gets exterior matching stitching on the seats along with a hexagonal carbon fibre plate which is the Japanese symbol for water. Mechanically, it continues to be powered by a 6.5-litre engine that comes mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission to generate 730bhp of power at 8400rpm and 690Nm of torque at 5500rpm.
