The camouflaged Lamborghini undergoing winter testing might turn out to be the Lamborghini Huracan Performante. The track-focussed, lighter and might-be slightly more powerful Huracan has been spotted testing many times and is slated for its debut at the prestigious Geneva Auto Show. Lamborghini has reportedly filed for the rights of the moniker ‘Performante’ which is why we think the Italians may drop the Superleggera tag.

The Performante will shed weight with the generous use of carbon fibre from the chassis construction to the body panels, the interior et al. With the weight expectedly at least 50kg lower, the bodywork has been tweaked to generate more downforce to deal with the added speed. The air dam in the front is new and it gets massive fixed rear-wing. It also gets GT3-style raised twin exhaust pipes.

At the heart, it has the 5.2-litre fire-breathing V10 that gets the new fuel-injection system that mixes multi-point fuel injection with stratified injection. Introduced first on the limited edition Huracan Avio, the injection system will help the Performante extract a few more horses over the standard car. The engine powers all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox and should be faster to 100kmph that the 3.2 second dash of the regular Huracan.

It goes without saying that the car will be introduced to India and a little birdie says that it is already generating some interest in the subcontinent. The Huracan Performante will be available in both coupe and spyder bodystyles, evident from the spy-shots.
