      KTM RC Cup model priced at Rs. 6.17 lakhs

      The Austrian two-wheeler brand KTM and Moto America had made an announcement to launch the RC Cup Series for the young racers in the United States of America. The company has recently announced that the factory-sealed RC 390 Cup motorcycle will be available for the public and go for sale in the United States of America market. The price of this bike is stated to be tagged at USD 9999, which makes it approximately 6.17 lakhs INR.

      The RC Cup bike has been developed so as to make it suitable for track-only race bike, with over 40 PowerParts modifications, which aids the bike’s dynamics. It is provided with fully adjustable WP suspension systems on both ends; a Titanium Akrapovic exhaust system and a RC8 R-style throttle assembly. The RC Cup RC390 is slightly detuned to produce 38 hp only, which is originally capable of producing 44 hp. This detuning has been done to meet the regulations for the championship. A racing windshield has been provided with additional tail fairing, foldable levers, belly pan as well as racing rear set footpegs.

      The RC Cup is scheduled to be a five-round special class series, which shall be conducted as a part of the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM American Motorcycle Road Racing Championship of 2015. The RC390 bikes are factory sealed, so the engine rebuilds in between the races, ECU checks and other such maintenance will be carried out by HMC technicians and engineers only.

      KTM markets the RC390 Cup bikes with the help of dealerships as ready-to-race bikes with privately modified and stock variants of the bike being banned from entering the series. The RC390 Cup bike was launched here in 2014 and the company is expected to launch a series for the Indian roads as well.
