The teaser image of KTM Duke 390 features a dark silhouette of the motorcycle with a tagline that says ‘Soon To Be Unleashed.’ The Duke 390 bike made its public debut at the 2012 EICMA motor show held in Milan, where it managed some rave reviews from top automobile industry critics and media. The naked sports bike boasts of several elements like orange alloy wheels and bold fuel tank with the 390 emblem.

The Duke KTM 390 derives its power from a 373 cc liquid cooled motor, which generates a top power output of 44 bhp and highest torque delivery of 35 Nm. The bike has a class leading power-to-weight ratio of 340 PS per ton, which is highly commendable as the Duke 390 weighs just 139 kg. At present, KTM is riding high on the success of Duke 200 and will be looking to continue the same with the soon-to-be launched Duke 390, which might be locally assembled at Bajaj Auto Limited's Chakan manufacturing facility near Pune.

The new KTM Duke 390 will challenge the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Honda CBR 250 ABS in the Indian two-wheeler market. The KTM Duke 390 could come with an introductory pricing close to Rs. 2 lakh. Currently, the Honda CBR 250R and Kawasaki Ninja 300 sports bikes carry price tags around Rs. 1.7 lakh and Rs. 3.5 lakh, respectively in the Indian auto market.
