Courtesy the inexpensive price tag and power packed performance, the KTM 390 will pave way for more entry level superbikes in India. This new bike has a top speed of around 160 kmph and can touch the 100 kmph barrier from nil in just under 6 seconds. The KTM 390 can also cross the 130 kmph in just under 10-11 seconds. This superbike has a maximum power output of 44 bhp and a peak torque of 35 Nm. The 6 speed transmission unit serving the KTM 200 will also be installed in the new KTM 390 Duke and will come with refreshed gear ratios.

It is expected that the India-spec model will come with Metzeler M5 Sportec tyres as a standard. These tyres are specifically designed to provide exceptional grip on the tarmac, even during rainy season. Notably, Metzeler happens to be a premium brand of Pirelli and is one of the best two wheeler tyre manufacturer across the globe. The 375 cc powertrain of this bike boasts of a forged piston and chrome plated cylinder for performance and durability. KTM 390 will also come with Anti-lock Braking System by Bosch that can be turned on or off by the rider at will. The new bike looks like an elder brother to the KTM Duke 125 and 200 cc models, except for the trademark orange paint job on the trellis frame, alloy wheels and different decals. A superbike of KTM 390's calibre will certainly enthuse a lot of bike lovers in the country.
