      KODA announces a price hike in its entire car assortment

      ŠKODA Auto India, Indian division of ŠKODA Auto, announced a price hike in its entire car portfolio. The hike ranges from 2.2 per cent to 5.1 per cent across all the cars. The company has stated that the revision of prices is in lieu of the changing conditions of market and will be immediately effective.

      With the revision in prices, the range of ŠKODA Fabia will start from Rs. 4.6 lacs, whereas the new arrival Rapid will be tagged with a base price of Rs. 6.9 lacs. Moreover, the price range of Laura will start from Rs. 12.9 lacs and the Yeti will be offered with a tag of Rs. 13.9 lacs. Owing to the price hike in complete car portfolio, Superb will also face a rise and will be now available with a base price of 19.6 lacs.

      ŠKODA Auto India started its business operations in the Indian auto market during November 2001 as a sub division of Volkswagen. ŠKODA Auto is reckoned as one of the fastest emergent car maker in Europe. The company has maintained a high quality manufacturing unit in Shendra near Aurangabad, Maharashtra, which is spread around a vast area of 300,000 square meters. ŠKODA Auto currently offers five brands in the Indian auto market, namely, Superb, Laura, Fabia, Yeti and the Rapid. The company has a dealer network of 90 outlets throughout the country and has recorded the sales figures of around 138,341 units from December 2001.
