Nissan Motors India took another step towards firming its position in the rapidly growing Indian auto market as it launched the Sunny sedan in Kerala recently. The mid-size sedan has been rolled out with a base price of Rs. 5.78 lacs. As a part of the future strategies planned for Sunny, Nissan India claims to sell-off about 30,000 units of Sunny sedan in the Indian auto industry by the end of March 2012. Moreover, due to the huge number of buyers being inclined towards compact cars that are available at competitive prices, Nissan feels positive about the time ahead.
Reports suggest that it will not be a great struggle for the company to achieve their target number of Sunny sedan sales by the end of this fiscal. The fact that the sedan will be available to customers all over the country without any waiting period makes the journey of Sunny easier and increases the scope of positive response. It is important to note that several leading car makers are directing their efforts towards expanding or entering the Indian market with the coercive impact.
Albeit, Nissan Sunny was designed in Japan, its overall look and assemblies are part of its research regarding the Indian car market needs. Sunny sedan is available in 3 variants namely XE, XL and XV with a price tag of Rs. 5.78 lacs, Rs. 6.88 lacs, and Rs. 7.68 lacs respectively. Nissan Sunny offers a decent fuel economy of 16.95 kmpl, as certified by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).
Manoj Kumar, Vice-President, Operations, Hover Automotive India, who is also the Nissan's Sales and Marketing partner in India confirmed that Sunny possesses high level of active and passive safety as well as other upgraded features. The features further enhance the satisfaction level both at the time of purchase and during the drive.
The mid-size masterpiece by Nissan features anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), brake assist, engine immobiliser and airbags, to add to the class of the sedan.
