A while ago the Versys from Kawasaki had been imported in India for homologation purpose, thereby hinting on a possible launch sometime soon. As per fresh updates from sources, the bikemaker may launch the new trim sometime by December this year. The bike shares some resemblance to its older sibling, the Versys 1000. To differentiate it from the other, the bike gets raised handlebars, height-adjustable windshield and also reach-adjustable handlebars.

The upcoming Kawasaki Versys 650 gets a 649cc, parallel-twin, four-stroke, liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine mated to six-speed transmission that would generate about 69bhp of power at 8,500rpm and peak torque of 64Nm at 7,000rpm. For enhanced ride quality, the bike gets upside-down forks at front and monoshock at the rear and alloy swingarm. As for maximum control, the bike gets single rotor disc for the rear, while the front gets dual petal discs.

In terms of design, the Versys 650 gets dual headlights, LED tail lights and a large fuel tank with a typical cruiser design. The company may offer the bike in only green and black colour option in India, while the white may not be offered. Kawasaki has not revealed the official pricing for now, it is expected to be priced around Rs 5 Lakh.
