The imaginations have been set to soar to the skies because of a step from Kawasaki recently. The two-wheeler manufacturer has registered ‘Ninja R2’ at the US Patent and Trademark Office. Similar reports have emerged from other international offices, as well.

The debate has already begun as to what might be in store for this motorcycle. The name that has been registered is fairly broad and the expectations have increased, thus, owing to the brand. All said and done, a fairly competitive Ninja model is expected to debut in the market soon.

There has been a Ninja H2 model from the brand recently, which has indicated some fans to draw a line of connection between the H2 and Ninja R2.lso, there are expectations that the brand is ready to produce a supercharged machine from Kawasaki. There are also rumours that Ninja R2 might as well be a small-displacement sports bike, which will have a stratospheric rev-limit.

However, it is a commonly acknowledged fact that no one yet knows what is in store for the bike. Moto-journalists have taken a dig and guesses for that matter as it can imply almost anything in the world with R2. Kawasaki is also taking its own time to keep the surprise intact. The brand had initially updated the Ninja ZX-10R with slight detuning of the machine especially for the US markets. Then it defined the small-displacement category with the powerful Ninja 300. Recently Kawasaki also launched H2 and H2R hyperbikes, which has also indicated that the brand will not hold back when it came to launching new models.

Kawasaki has got ample time to develop the new model, as the US trademark was filed in on August 13, 2013. However, this also means that 2015 might show us R2 as a teaser or in a trade show form.
