Michael had moved to India in the year July 2010 and played a pivoted role in the Indian operations of Audi. He is known for his immense contribution towards the success of Audi in India. During this reign in India, the company improvised and consolidated its position as a leading luxury car brand. The change reflects when one looks at the numbers: In the year 2010 the number was 3,003 cars while in 2012 it was 9,003 units. This is quite phenomenal, as the numbers are suggestive of almost three fold increment. The success story did not end here, as Audi India with its outstanding performance became the number one luxury car brand during the fiscal year 2012-2013, ahead of its competitors BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

Joe King will move to Audi India from Audi Australia. Back in Australia, Joe played a vital role in the management team of Audi Australia Pty Ltd. As per the statement made by the company, "As General Manager and Dealer Principal of Audi Australia's wholly-owned retail subsidiary, Audi Centre Sydney, Joe King was responsible, over the last four years, for the management, development and direction of the dealership operations.”

Joe, who studied at the University of Melbourne, has an experience of over 23 years in the automotive industry. He started his career in the year 1990 by joining Toyota. From the year 1996 until 2009, he had taken up many roles and responsibilities. His diverse knowledge is evident from the fact that he took up various roles in BMW Group Australia. The roles played by him include Managing Director of BMW Sydney and General Manager of Sales. He also worked as General Manager of Sales at BMW Melbourne along with the role of a Finance and Insurance Manager.
