      JLR's global sales up by 30% in April, demand rises in China and Asia Pacific regions

      Continuing the positive growth in sales momentum, Tata Motors’ British subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover global sales is up by 30 per cent at 37,171 units in April 2014. The company confirmed that it witnessed positive growth in various significant markets including China, North America, Asia Pacific and Europe. In Chinese market, JLR sales grew 72 per cent, in North America the company posted 19 per cent increase in sales, while in Asia Pacific and European market JLR registered 25 per cent and 27 per cent growth in sales. JLR started off year 2014 on a good note by reporting rise in sales during first quarter of the calendar year. The strong demand for JLR vehicles including F-Type and Range Rover line-up backed JLR’s upward sales trend in April 2014.

      Jaguar sales stood at 5,511 units in April registering a 17 per cent rise in sales YoY basis. On the other hand Land Rover sold 31,660 units in April posting 33 per cent hike in sales. Last month was particularly good for Range Rover Sport model as it posted strongest sales since 2006.

      China and Asia Pacific regions are considered to be the fastest growing automotive markets in the world and Land Rover seems to be tightening its grip in these two regions with 72 per cent and 31 per cent increase in sales respectively.
