Ahead of its official launch by the end of this year in the US, the details of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler have been leaked. This time around, the new model will get two new petrol engine options along with fresh cosmetic detailing. It also gets a folding windscreen this time, while it continues to be available in four-door and two-door options.

Jeep has skipped the 2.8-litre engine option on the new Wrangler and will instead be powered by either a 2.0-litre four-cylinder or a 3.6-litre V6 engine. Reports indicate that the new model might also be offered with a hybrid system. Eight-speed automatic transmission is offered as standard on both the engine options while the six-speed manual transmission option will be limited to the 3.6-litre variant only. Along with impressive off-road handling, the vehicle will also get a system which is designed to prevent trailer snaking.

Inside, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler offers a choice between 7-inch and 8.4-inch infotainment units. The displays get the integrated climate control system, while the larger display additionally offers the Sat-Nav support. Along with the adjustable electronic stability control, the new Wrangler also gets automatic emergency braking and rain brake support. The new Jeep Wrangler’s launch date remains unannounced for now and is expected to launch sometime in the second half of 2018 here in India. More details about the vehicle will be known in the days to come.
