Sources state that Jeep is planning to launch the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk at the 2017 New York Auto Show.
Though it is rumoured that the model may be called the ‘Trackhawk’, Jeep is yet to confirm this. As seen in the picture, a camouflaged Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has been caught testing on several instances. You can tell the difference by the sportier fascia which reveals a revised front bumper with larger air intakes. Powering the Trackhawk will be the 6.2-litre supercharged V8 motor from the Dodge Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models.
Though this motor is capable of making 707bhp, reports speculate that it may make less power in the Trackhawk owing to the all-wheel-drive setup it is expected to come with. As a matter of fact, it is believed that this sporty SUV can sprint to 100kmph from standstill in about three seconds. Expect other high performance parts to supplement the increased power output like a sturdier suspension and sharper brakes.
