      Jaguar Land Rover inaugurates a new showroom in Pune

      Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), the completely owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, has opened the doors of its new outlet in Pune, Maharashtra, in a venture with Ace Perkins. The showroom was inaugurated by P.M. Telang, who was the Managing Director of Tata Motors, Indian operations and stepped down from then board of company in June 2012. With the inauguration of a new facility, the auto maker seems to streamline its expansion process in the country by offering a handful of decent launches.

      The car maker has strategically located its new outlet in Shivajinagar, in a vicinity of the Old Pune Mumbai Road, which is one of the prime locations of the city for the buyers of luxury cars. JLR’s new showroom sprawls around an area of 12,000 square feet and feature a big display area that can put-on 9 cars at a time. Besides, the company’s outlet also boasts of facilities like customer lounge and organised parking system.

      JLR has also located a workshop in Wagholi, to support the operations of its new outlet, which spans over more than 14,000 square feet, including 13 service bays with paint facility and body shop unit. At both the locations, the company has recruited 60 employees to carry the operations flawlessly.

      Speaking on the mission behind the opening of a new showroom, Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar Land Rover, Dr. Ralf Speth, quoted, “In the fiscal year 2011-12, we achieved a sales growth of 157% in the Indian market and we want to maintain this momentum by heightening the awareness of our brands and continuing our dealership expansion Programme. We are aiming to have 20 operational dealerships in India by the end of this fiscal year.”

      Adding to the statement, Rohit Suri, Head, Premier Car Division, Jaguar Land Rover India, said, “This superb facility in Pune will enable our customers to have access to premium levels of sales and service. Our dealership expansion programme will continue to improve accessibility to our products through further new dealerships across India.”

      At the company’s new facility, buyers will be provided with an opportunity to access the entire Jaguar’s portfolio, including Jaguar XJ, XF, XFR, XKR and the XKR-S, which is the most powerful and the fastest sports car ever designed by the company. From the Land Rover’s portfolio, showroom will offer Freelander 2, Discovery 4, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover and the Range Rover Evoque.

      In India, Jaguar Land Rover inaugurated its first showroom in June 2009 and in the present scenario, the company has been operating 15 sales and after sales centres in the country. With the expansion of its official dealership network, analysts believe that the company is in a full swing to grab a decent market share in the Indian auto industry.
