Jaguar unveiled the F-Type SVR globally at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. As per the Indian arm of the British car maker, Jaguar’s flagship sports car is set to make its India debut very soon. Put together by the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division of the Jaguar-Land Rover, the F-Type SVR is the fastest F-Type ever built.
The F-Type SVR is based on the F-Type R AWD. The 5.0-litre supercharged V8 has been tuned up to deliver 567bhp of power instead of the 543 in the F-Type R. The torque has been driven up to 700Nm and with power being delivered through all four wheels, the SVR hits 100kmph from stand still in just 3.5 seconds. The F-Type SVR also goes on to hit a top whack of 200mph (320+ kmph) with the custom tweaked eight speed automatic gearbox.
The suspension has been tweaked and strengthened, the alloy wheels have shed weight while the tyres have grown wider to cope with the added power and speed. The all-wheel-drive system gets torque vectoring with stability control. Apart from the mechanicals, it gets a reworked front bumper and splitter, flat underbelly, and a carbon fibre active rear wing for improved aerodynamics. The exhaust is made of titanium alloy and sounds madder than ever before.
For those who have been thinking this might be the first F-Type AWD to be offered in India, Jaguar has been offering the F-Type R AWD to Indian customers already. If you have not ordered one by now, it will take four months for to get your car imported as a CBU.
