The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross might not have found many takers in the urban cities, but it has surely managed to command attention in the suburbs and hilly regions. This time around, in an effort to strengthen its presence in the country, the automaker will be introducing the MU-X in the country on May 11. The new model from Isuzu’s production line will emerge as a strong competitor against the likes of Ford Endeavour, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Chevrolet Trailblazer and the Toyota Fortuner in India.

The India-bound Isuzu MU-X was last seen at the 2017 Bangkok Motor Show. Reports suggest that we might get a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine from the D-Max V-Cross in India which generates 136bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. As for the international markets, the vehicle will get a newly-developed 1.9-litre four-cylinder engine that generates 150bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. It also gets a 3.0-litre diesel engine option that generates 177bhp of power and 380Nm of torque. The engines come mated to a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission option. Sometime at a later date, these engine options might also be introduced in our country.

On the design aspect, the new Isuzu MU-X sports a redesigned headlamps that is well complimented by large horizontal grille slats. The projector units smartly house the LED-daytime running lamps. The bumper has been revised for freshness, while the sides looks visually attractive with 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear section has been revised with a new roof-mounted spoiler. As for the interior, the vehicle gets a new eight-inch infotainment screen with iConnect feature along with navigation and smartphone connectivity. The standard equipment list includes steering mounted controls, climate control, six-way seat adjustment and six speakers.
