Infiniti was caught testing their next-generation QX50 prototype in the USA.

This iteration of the QX50 gets a few styling traits from the concept car that was revealed at the Detroit Auto Show. We spotted the same broad grille, narrow headlights, vertically positioned intakes, and sleek tail lamps. While the camouflage on the hood points to the use of a large air intake or protruding crease, the sloping roof gives the car a sporty posture.

Reports claim that the new QX50 will be powered by their new 2.0-litre VC-Turbo engine that makes 268bhp and 390Nm of torque. Though the concept car at Detroit was equipped with the latest generation ProPilot semi-autonomous technology which can drive in highway traffic, there is no confirmation if this function will make it to the production car yet.

Infiniti has been working extensively on the design attributes of the QX50 for some time now, and it is rumoured to hit showrooms in the first half of 2018. Stay tuned.
