2019 BMW M4 has been spotted testing in India and is expected to be introduced in India via the CKD route. The vehicle will be assembled at its Chennai facility and although the price remains unannounced for now, however, the vehicle expected to be priced around Rs 60 lakhs at the time of launch and will sit between the X3 and the X5.

The upcoming BMW X4 will be based on the Cluster Architecture (CLAR) platform. Based on what can be seen, the India spec version is expected to be offered with a brushed aluminium cladding on the wheel arches and side skirts. The one spotted on test comes with a unique set of 19-inch alloy wheels, thereby indicating that this might well be the higher spec M Sport X variant. The vehicle is expected to be offered with the latest iDrive infotainment system and offer 525-litres of boot space, this can be further increased to 1,430-litres with the rear seats folded.

Although the test mule does not reveal more details on the engine spec, it is believed to be a diesel variant, called the M40d that will be powered by a 3.0-litre diesel engine that generates 320bhp of power and 680Nm off torque. Sometime later, the company might also introduce a petrol version, called the M40i, which is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that generates 252bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Both the engines will come mated to an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.
