The Volkswagen Tiguan will be a five-seater SUV and it will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The Tiguan might also come as a seven-seater, just like the new Yeti. This will help Volkswagen to compete with Skoda Yeti, as even the Yeti will soon have a seven-seater as well.

Volkswagen Tiguan will be priced between Rs 20-24 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will be launched in 2016. The 2.0-litre diesel engine on the Tiguan will be producing about 140bhp of power and will have a six-speed manual and automatic transmission option. These will be offered as front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options.

Volkswagen has plans to launch the Beetle this year, which will be powered by a 1.4-litre TSI engine. This time around, Volkswagen will looking at a CKD route for the Beetle, to make it a lot more affordable. The Beetle will be a good option and a lot more affordable than the Mini and the Abarth 500.
