Suzuki has exhibited the India-spec Swift hatchback facelift at the on-going 2014 Moscow Motor Show. Available already in various prominent international markets, the contemporary and chic Swift facelift is speculated to be launched in domestic market around November; however Maruti Suzuki India has not confirmed the launch date yet. External modifications include LED daytime running lights on foglight enclosure, lower part of the front bumper gets silver detailing, new wheel caps for the steel wheels among others. A new shade- Boost Blue has also been added. Cabin too gets several changes, new seat fabrics, power folding wing mirrors, an auto-up function for the driver side power window and automatic head lamps. Unlike the Russian automotive market where the Swift facelift is available in two body styles- 3-door and 5-door, the India-spec model will only be offered in 5-door variant. Suzuki also offers a 4WD version of the hatchback in Russia though there is no probability of this 4WD version to be launched in India.

Engine set has been retained from the previous model. The petrol version will house 1.2 ligtre K-Series petrol engine that is capable of outputting maximum power of 87 Bhp along with peak torque of 114 Nm. Diesel variants will get Fiat sourced 1.3 litre Multijet diesel powertrain good for a maximum power output of 75 Bhp and a top torque of 190 Nm. A five-speed manual gearbox will be synchronized to both the engines. Internationally, Swift is also offered with a four-speed automatic transmission, as for the domestic market chances are bleak that MSI will bring auto-box variant to India. Expected to launch around November in India, the hatchback will rival the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, 2014 Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto EVO and upcoming Tata Bolt.
