Mobis, a sister country’s second largest car maker Hyundai Motors India limited (HMIL), which produces spare parts for this Korean auto giant in India, has suspended 300 workers for joining union. As a result, hundreds of Hyundai vehicles have got stuck at the dealership, waiting for the spare parts to be shipped-out of the production plant.

It is to be mentioned here that the company had suspended almost entire staff about a few weeks back, after their joining of trade union Anna Thozhir Sangam, which is backed by AIADMK.

While the company is yet to speak anything on the matter, union leaders have started raising their voices for the reinstatement of these suspended workers.

"Mobis management suspended its 300-plus contract workers overnight, as they signed up for a trade union with us. They also cancelled contracts with their contractor. They do not want any trade union, least of all a union which has political affiliation,” as per a statement given by Mr. R Chinnaswamy, head of Anna Thozhir Sangam.
