The Verna sedan from Hyundai has been a popular choice in its segment. Sometime mid last year, the company had introduced a new trim with cosmetic upgrades, along with discontinuation of top-of-the-line SX (O) trim. This time around sources have revealed that the company has reintroduced the top end SX (O) variant with new equipment upgrades.

The top-end Verna SX (O) gets a 1.6-litre engine in petrol and diesel options, unlike the 1.4-litre petrol and diesel serving the lower trims. The fairly powered engine comes mated to four-speed automatic gearbox. As for safety, it comes with disc brakes on all four wheels, side and curtain airbags and a supervision instrument cluster.

Inside, the new Verna SX (O) gets leather seats, gear knob, steering and armrests. Additionally, the relaunched sedan gets push-button start, push-button start, chrome door handles, rain-sensing wipers and telescopic steering. The new 2016 yet is yet to reach dealership outlets and is likely to be there soon. The vehicle could emerge as a strong competitor against the likes of Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Volkswagen Vento.
