A slight facelift, which has given the Verna, a totally new appearance, has also given an option for Hyundai to rechristen it. Known as the Hyundai Verna 4S, this model has been given a slightly major upgrade from the outside. However, the interiors have been kept almost the same with little or almost no changes to it. The new car debuts as 8.94 lakhs INR for the diesel variant and 7.73 lakhs INR for the petrol ones. There will be two options available each in petrol and diesel guise with automatic as well as manual transmission options.
A strange aspect, which has been noted in the new Hyundai Verna 4S, is its strange resemblance with Sonata. The changes, which have been made, are that of a new grille, front bumper, fog-lamps, headlamps without DRLS, alloy-wheel design and LED effect tail lamps. Though the design changes have bolstered the appearance of the car, it is not yet known, whether the facelift is an after-market update or just an official modification. In both ways, the car will definitely provide stiff competition to the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City.
All said and done, the car is expected to boost the sales of the brand as far as the sedan segment is concerned. Hyundai has been facing stiff competition in this segment. A new facelift might as well come to its aid and reposition the brand in this category.
