The Hyundai Veloster N, a sport variant of the standard Hyundai Veloster coupe was spotted doing laps around the Nurburgring. ‘N’ denotes that the car is tuned by Hyundai’s in-house tuner which packs higher performance than the standard car.
Our spy photographers have caught the car in action and the images give a glimpse into the features that the new sports coupe would pack. The vehicle wears a strong camouflage which keeps its new styling and looks under the wraps. The new vehicle is expected to be based on a new platform which will allow the manufacturer to make the car lighter and stiffer.
The side profile reveals large alloy wheels and sticky low profile tyres. Behind the alloys are chunky brake callipers and evidently larger brake rotors hinting at the manufacturer’s priority in making the car safe.
The rear of the car is equipped with a well hid spoiler enhancing the sportiness of the Veloster. A twin exhaust pipe and a diffuser also join this line-up.
The power plant is expected to be the same as that of the Veloster, although the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the Veloster N is expected to churn out 20-30bhp more than the standard state of tune.
The Veloster N is expected to unveil itself next year in the 2018 Geneva or Paris Motor Show. When launched in the European market, the Veloster N will compete against the Honda Civic Type-R, Volkswagen Golf GTI and Ford Focus ST.
